Before the appointment

Precare

You should arrive without eye makeup and mascara-free. Any makeup on your natural lashes can interfere with the adhesive bond and shorten your eyelash extension lifespan.

ALSO, it is extremely important that your lashes be as clean as possible.

after the appointment

Aftercare

Avoid showering, swimming, the use of saunas, and steam rooms for the first 24 hours, as this will affect your adhesive bond.

Do not pull, rub, or sleep on lashes. Avoid waterproof eye makeup and mascara. Avoid all oil-based products and makeup remover around your eye area.

Brush your lashes daily with a clean mascara wand. Do not use an eyelash curler, perm, or tint your eyelash extensions.

Washing your lashes will make them last longer (wait 48 hours after application)! Please use a lash-specific shampoo to ensure proper cleansing (available at Art of Lash). Be sure to cleanse daily to remove excess oils and debris.

Clients with sensitivities or allergies should avoid drinking wine for the first 24 hours, as it may increase sensitivities and cause an allergic reaction.
Lash shedding is a normal process which happens to all of us (with or without lash extensions). Book your fill every 2-4 weeks to keep your lashes looking full.

eyelash extensions FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions
Lash extensions are synthetic fibers that we attach to each of your natural lashes. They feel like normal eyelashes, but enhance what you have, giving you a fuller and longer look.

The natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes directly influences the longevity of your eyelash extensions. Refills should be required every 2 to 3 weeks, but this does depending on your daily facial cleansing routine and physical activity.

Augmenting your natural lashes with extensions elevates your lashes to a point that mascara is generally no longer necessary. However, a water-based mascara can be used for those that would still like to add a touch more lift.

For the first 24 hours, avoid sports and recreation activities that would cause you to sweat, especially those taking place in humid conditions. Examples include, but are not limited to, swimming, showering, visits to spas/saunas, tanning. After the initial 48 hours you can return to your regular routine, as the lash adhesive will be fully secure. It is still advised however to steer clear of high-temperature and humidity saunas as they can loosen the adhesive bond prematurely.

The ideal time to wait before washing your face and wetting your eyelash extensions is 24 hours. The lash adhesive needs that time to bond securely.

Full Set appointments take 2.5 to 3 hours depending on your chosen style. Bi-weekly refills take 60 minutes every 2-3 weeks.

Please refer to our Booking Policy and Refill Policy for further information.

We will help you decide on the best style for your eyes based on the shape of your eyes and face, whether you are looking for something for a special event, or just for day-to-day enjoyment.

You can learn more about what preparation is required ahead of your visit here.

The longevity of your lash extensions are directly connected to your natural lash growth and how well you care for them (See Aftercare). For full sets, we include a FREE 30-min touch-up appointment to be used within the first 4-days of receiving the lashes. This check-up allows us to see how the lashes have adhered and held up in the first few days, and to take care of any initial issues. For refills, if you have experienced an unusual amount of fall-out in the first 3-days and have followed our aftercare procedures and still feel that you are not seeing the ideal result, please call so we can book you in for an immediate consult and repair at no cost.
Allergic reactions to eyelash extensions are very rare and unlikely, but they do happen. A reaction normally occurs within the first 72 hours post-service and can include symptoms such as redness, swelling on the lid, and itching. The severity of reaction differs drastically, from very mild and brief itchiness, all the way up to swelling, soreness, and redness. It can be very uncomfortable and unfortunately, if you have reacted in the past to eyelash extensions, it is very likely you will react again.
Allergic reactions to lash extensions is caused by an allergy to the main ingredient in the eyelash extension glue called cyanoacrylate. It is in every eyelash extension adhesive and it’s actually a reaction to the fumes released by the glue, not the glue touching your skin (because at good lash salons, the glue should never touch your skin). MYTH: Eyelash extension reactions are caused because formaldehyde is in the glue. This is simply not true. We only use the highest-quality adhesives and ones that are fast-drying with low fumes. The only two ingredients are Cyanoacrylate and black pigment.
Yes, however some clients will not show any reaction to the patch test, but once the extensions are applied, they can still react once a full set of lashes have been applied.
Should the parent agree and be present, we can provide lash lifts, extensions, or any other beauty service (excluding Permanent Makeup) to guests 16 years old and above.
